Believing These Nine Myths About Arcade Game Keeps You From Growing

indoor playgroundIf you believed the Ms Pacman cocktail arcade game was in the World Video Game Hall of Fame, you'd be wrong. It's been on the shortlist for entry -- it had been on the shortlist both this year and last year. It still hasn't made the cut yet, though.
In fact, no 1980s arcade games combined the Hall of Fame this year. That said, the judges failed to select a timeless 1990s arcade game. This was also to console games, a mid-70s text-based adventure game, and a game which was packaged free from the Microsoft Windows operating platform.

These are a Few of the great 1980s arcade games that got cut at the final hurdle this season:
• Ms Pac-Man -- a finalist for 2 Decades now so, hopefully, It Is Going to Find the recognition it deserves in future decades
• Centipede -- the 1981 award-winning classic from Atari that offered gameplay similar to Space Invaders but with bugs Rather than spaceships
• Asteroids -- the brilliant multidirectional shooter published by Atari in 1979 that was one of the very first arcade games to achieve widespread popularity

• Mortal Kombat -- this is the only arcade game to get in the World Video Game Hall of Fame in 2019. Through the years, various versions and titles of this game have been released on a range of different platforms. The initial four incarnations, however, beginning in 1992, were arcade only.
• Microsoft Solitaire -- packaged in the Windows operating system, it's been mechanically installed on countless computers across the world. Since 1990, it has helped workplace employees pretend to be active and is currently played 35 billion times annually.
• Super Mario Kart -- the most fun and still popular racing game which was first published in 1992. It features characters from the Mario Bros video game franchise and continues to be released on multiple consoles and platforms.
• Colossal Cave Adventure -- an obscure (compared to another big gaming titles mentioned in this article) text-based adventure game released in 1976. To perform it, you write commands and there aren't any graphics. The intention is to locate treasures and resolve puzzles.
